Lack of time or privacy undoubtedly keeps almost all crossdressers from doing something we love so much, which is simply putting on clothes designed for the opposite sex. Along with this, there is usually some sort of identity negotiation involved. I’ve posted how I feel about my personal identity, but it can mean different things to different people.
Thinking whimsically about the whole “crossdressing” subject led me to some casual ideas that I actually incorporate into my own life/identity. I thought that I would share them with you because they (hopefully) are noteworthy.
These are my top 3 ways to incorporate being a crossdresser into your overall life.
3. Message Board Madam
Sign up at an online forum that deals with something that you are passionate about, like photography, sports or politics. Instead of using your male name and picture, use your female name and picture without actually saying that you are a crossdresser. Enjoy being able to discuss and interact while no one is the wiser about your secret.
This will depend on how you incorporate your identity, but I think regardless of how you feel inside it can be accomplished. For example, if you are the type that only feels female when dressed up, then do so and then sign in to your alias’ account. The point is, the internet allows you to move around essentially unnoticed.
2. Video Game Vixen
Play a video game where you have the option of being a girl. This can be anything from a role-playing game to a fighting game. Choose a female character like Chun-Li, Princess Peach, or Serena Williams. In Animal Crossing, I play as a female character, and it’s kind of funny how the other characters in the game interact with me. In Street Fighter, I can relish the fact that I am kicking butt as Chun Li, Crimson Viper or Sakura. Heck, even in Baseball Stars for the NES, you can take control of the all-girl team “Lovely Ladies”.
1. Clothing Color Cutie
Be a fashionable man and buy a shirt in pink or lavender. There are so many choices out there, from tees to dress shirts. Go with a traditionally feminine color and enjoy the wonderful spectrum that exists for all genders to embrace. Taking things a half-step further, buy some womens tank tops to wear under your normal everyday shirts. Ninenty-nine percent of the time these are identical to the men’s tank tops, save for the wide variety of colors and patterns. Finally, sites like nikeid.com allow you to customize the color and texture scheme of a gymshoe. Some of the possible choices include pink, baby blue, yellow and purple. Mixing these up would almost undoubtebly create a “girly” shoe for a man.
I would love to hear your ideas for incorporating your dressing into different aspects of your life. While these are things that I do, I know that others may have even better ways of taking crossdressing to other levels.
When I do these things, I actually feel like a more complete person, not hiding how I feel inside. And while they do not involve actual “crossdressing” necessarily, they do allow me to express my identity and be myself more often. I hope that they can do the same for you.

I always wear girl’s jeans as I find the cut of them more comfortable than male ones. Also ‘gender neutral’ t shirts in plain or with unisex emblems on, that are often my wife’s cast offs……..
And socks – girls plain white ankle socks are indistinguishable form male ones,. I used to have a pair of girls sneakers to but couldn’t find a suitably androgynous replacement pair when they wore out.
These outfits are perfect for when I’m out browsing the thrift stores and malls for more skirts, heels and lingerie……
That’s awesome to hear, Sandra. To the lazy observer, you are wearing normal male clothes and not crossdressing, but essentially, you are crossdressing.
I like the idea of crossdressing without actually crossdressing.
It works for me. I am 87 years old and have little expereience with
crossdressing for real.
Glad you enjoyed the post
I have actually found a great way to do virtual crossdressing in the amazing world of Second Life. Over time I have created several female personas and believe it or not my girls are a lot more popular than my male persona there.
The experience in Second Life is also amasingly lifelike and you get to accesorise and shop for any outfit your heart desires, sometimes I find it hard to turn of the P.C. and say goodbye to my girls.
Thank you for a great blog.
