Mainstream Crossdressing: Taco Bell Nachos

by Jessica De Leon on May 4, 2009

Here is something a little fun. This is a Taco Bell commercial that is currently airing and it features two friends, one of whom has shown up for the big game “en femme”. Every time that I see this one I smile.

What I really like about this commercial is the fact that they actually did a good job fixing this guy up in drag. Usually, when we see crossdressing in television, the guy is usually dressed sloppily and foolishly, obviously for comedic effect. While this commercial is funny and crossdressing is usually used to make us laugh, I think that this is possibly a step in the right direction (towards acceptance).

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw this. The guy is made up to look legitimate. To pass. Except for the ENORMOUS “baby” belly. LOL. But they could have gone over the top and the reigned it in. Crossdressers are everywhere. Maybe one of the execs at the ad agency is one of “the girls”. You never know!

Yea, you’re right about the baby belly. That is interesting to think that one of the execs could be a crossdresser. I wonder if the actor in the commercial enjoyed his role, too?

I have done a lot of stage work, and when I have had to play a drag role, I always try to make it believable, without raising suspicions that “I’ve done this before.” It’s a fine line to walk, but LOTS of fun!!
