When it comes to crossdressing, most are constantly looking to improve. Sure, there are masters in our midst, but the rest of us always want that latest tip or just general advice. I have compiled a list of fifteen steps to becoming the best crossdresser that you can be.
15. Dress Up & Go Out
This is a big step, one that unfortunately many of us will never take for one reason or another. If you can’t, don’t fret, it’s only #15 on the list. For those who can step out, it is a liberating experience often difficult to put into words. There are many obstacles that we face along the way and just being ourselves out in the world can help us overcome a lot of negative issues.
Of course, keep your safety in mind always by being smart and taking the necessary precautions. There are some that would simply laugh at us but others who would gladly do physical harm to us.

I have yet to experience this, but I will soon, and I will do my best to capture all of the excitement here at Jessica Who?
14. Read Fashion Magazines
Lucky, Vogue and In Style are all three great choices to start with. Picking one of these up at the store is extremely simple and they offer lots of great advice and pictures to see the latest trends in clothing and makeup.

These magazines also showcase accessories and handbags, which brings us to our next step.
13. Accessorize!
Accessories are a must for any woman’s wardrobe, which means that you should not overlook these small but integral additions to your own. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings will add flair and style to any outfit, and they can be picked up at generally any clothing store.
Handbags also rank up there and depending on your taste can be very important. I actually have yet to buy one but I do love that you are not restricted by size [like with shoes! grrr lol].

Other accessories to consider include belts, gloves, scarves, hats, wallets, and sunglasses.

15: Yeah, it’s fun. But stay safe and go far away if you’re worried you’ll be clocked. Oh, and don’t go to the mall, it’s such a cliche (even if they do have all the best shops… and AC… and coffee bars… and wireless.. and parking. Oh rats!
)
14: A nice read, but don’t torture yourself over comparing your body to the Photoshopped images in there. Real women don’t look like that either.
13: If you’ve got it, flaunt it. If you haven’t, accessorize!
I love accessories. I can’t get enough. But ironically I have like 20 pairs of earrings but I find myself coming back to the large hoops because some part of me thinks they are so damn sexy! Hmmmmmm…
@Lynn you are right about some of those models in fashion mags can enforce very bad image issues.
@Nikki I love hoops too!!!
I've only been out once, but it was a defining experience. Likely won't happen again any time soon, so I'm glad I got to do it.
i would love to go out but carnt bring myself to do it. it sounds great from what i hear if you go to the right places there are places to go. go in normal clothes then get changed in the place i would think thats the safiest way i have been out but as far as the back garden when im alone i did get caught by next door but she wasnt bothered she thought it was quite sexy. pleases reply to my email to let me know how you are getting on i would like to speak to you
I’ve only ventured out a couple of times but a couple of tips for you:
Take an umbrella and go out on rainy nights – there are fewer people about and it’s easy to hide behind an umbrella if other people get too close (passing cars have less visibility too).
Travel away from your local area so you don’t risk being spotted by neighbours or anyone else who might know where you live.
Avoid parks and similar open spaces – they might look deserted but they are favourite hangouts for youths and drunks who might not be immediately visible – better to find a quiet road with the odd passing car (you never know you might even get a friendly toot from a passing make driver!)
That's great Leslie, I hope that you can in fact experience it again soon, maybe Halloween?
I have just started going outside, day & night and have mangaged a few trips to do some light grocery shopping. It has been scary and exciting at the same time. My ventures are usually only on the weekends but I sue do look forward to them. I would like to go someplace where other CDs socialize but I am not yet aware of any in my area.
Yea, a social club would be great. It’s always scary / exciting when you go out dressed and I don’t think there’s anything that can properly prepare you for it. It just takes practice and experience
The first time I went out I was so nervous but no one seamed to care about me. Now I get dressed and cant wait to go out. Finally let my hair grow long enough where I dont need a wig. This should be interesting.May get an extension or two. Ill call this hair accesorization.
That’s really cool, so do you out often? I’ve never been outside of the comfort zone that is a TG conference, I’m curious as to how people would react to me.
Good luck with your hair
, would love to see pictures
I am a Closet crossdresser and dress only at home as I have never gone out dressed as its always something I dream about.I dress up and do photoshoots alot as i can then see how i look in different outfits, Heels.I am always buying new skirts, hosiery, girly shirts, tight jeans, and cute heels that i wear around the house with pantyhose or tights.I am letting my hair grow long as i have always wanted long hair as i can pull it back when I am out and then let it down at home and maybe get hightlights in it.I am going to a halloweeen party this year as a hooker or schoolgirl ,not sure what yet.I like the though of wearing a pleated skirt or would be nice to wear a denim mini skirt or a leather skirt.
Jessica, you are definitely an inspiration. As for the going out, every CD should do this at least once. May it be Halloween, a costume party (that a close friend “conveniently” planned), or just go out with friends. For a closet CD it is an incredibly liberating experience.
My first time out, I went to the movies, last show. It was scary but exciting too. I even bought some popcorn and a diet drink. I received a questioning look from the usher, but had no problems.
I go out dressed all the time and no one detects a thing. It is very flattering to have guys whistle at me or come on to me. Hell, I am way better looking than at least 80% of the women anyway.
One thing I want to do is get a professional to apply makr up and go to the max. But this is a small town. I could use suggestions on how to make this come about. And there is a beauty college Iam thinking of calling.
But I have been to plenty of parks, libraries, malls, super markets and even churches. And I have encountered people I have known for years and they don’t recognize me. Dang, one time i even ended up talking to a woman cop and thought I was had. but, nope, I passed there as well. It helps that I wear size 4 or 6 Junior’s or Petites and have 5-1/2 shoes. Someone attacking me is likely making a mistake as I am well skilled and practiced in 5 styles of martial arts.
So quit dressing up at home and get out there and have fun. Shave off the body and facial hair or keep it covered and no one will likely detect a thing. Our voices are likely the biggest enemy. I carry cards saying I am mute or will simply make a brief reply in German. But other times I am confident even about my voice.
I go out all the time to the park and the bar. I don,t all ways take off the make up when I change I don’t care what people think. I feel real sexy when men whistle at me and had a couple guys that had to get there feel on almost wet my self on that even got some kisses from them I have learned don’t hide if you come out you will meet others
and yes it is scary at first but it is fun too. Watch your self there are some people there will try but there are others that will protect you also
I’m tired of breast forms. So I’ve started to grow my own breasts they look good. I have been doing this with a soap and a cream and I ‘m already at a B cup. So there are creams that really work. You can have your own Breast.
