15 Steps To Better Crossdressing – Part Two

Check out steps 15-13 here.

When it comes to crossdressing, most are constantly looking to improve. Sure, there are masters in our midst, but the rest of us always want that latest tip or just general advice. I have compiled a list of fifteen steps to becoming the best crossdresser that you can be.

12. Try On Clothes (In Store)

While I love online shopping and the associated benefits, there are some drawbacks.

  • Shipping and Return costs can be high and some stores may deduct some of your refund
  • You can’t instantly have what you purchased
  • Not able to try on the clothes

If you can muster up the courage, I recommend going into a store and trying things on in the dressing room. Sure, you may get comments or looks but many stores are very open-minded, especially in this economy. If you wish, you can shop during non-peak hours so that there aren’t as many fellow patrons.

I have done this at Macy’s and Express, and let me tell you that both were great experiences. Obviously, being able to dress is fantastic no matter what. More importantly, though, you are able to see how something fits and make a decision on size and whether or not to purchase it. No sales associate has been rude to me during these times.

Here’s another tip: bundle some male clothes with the female clothes and take them to the dressing room. Most of the time, associates don’t really pay much attention to what you are trying on, anyway.

11. Attend a Conference

This may be difficult in some cases, as conferences typically charge registration fees and you may have to travel and stay in a hotel during the conference (more fees). However, conferences are always a great way to connect with people who share your interests. You may make friends but you will almost certainly have a great time.

I will be attending this year’s Be-All conference and I am more than excited for it, and I will be sure to blog about my experiences there.

Not crossdressing related, but I have attended the Horror Flashback convention here in Chicagoland and I had an excellent time at the seminars, interviews and vendor shops. If you have a chance to attend a crossdresser or transgender conference certainly take advantage of the opportunity.

10. Improve Your Mental & Physical Health

By improving your mental, emotional and physical health you will be a more happy and successful crossdresser.  If you are experiencing any sort of emotional trauma or having doubts about yourself, going to counseling is probably a good idea. I have written a couple of great posts on the matter and you can check them out here and here.

Many crossdressers (yours truly included) are just fine being men and have no desire to transition. However, that does not mean that there’s nothing you can do where your body is concerned. Exercising is vital no matter what but will give you added benefits if you enjoy looking like a lady every so often. Men tend to gain weight in the stomach area, and you probably want to have a flat stomach if you are a crossdresser.

While my blog is not of the fitness variety, I do encourage you to do some sort of cardiovascular exercise several times per week. Weight lifting can be helpful as well, but be careful. If you lift too heavy, then you can develop a massive frame that may not meet your desired expectations of appearance. You can keep track and follow along with me during my exercise regimen here.

By taking care of your well-being, you will get much more out of life and crossdressing.

an exercise guide for crossdressers would be a great idea, how to thin down, tone and develop certain assets without becoming big & bulky. I would to see this.
