I attended the Be-All Conference from June 5th to June 7th, here is my journal of my experiences. Because of the long length, I have decided to divide it into a four part series. You can read Part One here, Part Two here, and Part Three here.
After lunch, I strolled the atrium and called my mom, just to let her know that things were going much better. I dropped in on one of my new friends as she was getting a makeover. I spent the next few hours just sitting in the atrium, all by myself, watching and observing everyone who passed by.
Doing this helped me realize that it’s all about enjoying life and taking advantage of the opportunities given to you, while making some of your own in the process. Not every person there was beaming with confidence, some looked quite timid and unsure of themselves. At that moment, I felt somewhere in between.
I returned to my room and began writing down my thoughts. Here is an excerpt, unedited:
”… waiting on the wife to get back so we can get ready for tonight’s grand banquet. I am excited and probably am going to be a little more brave and confident so I can’t wait.”
A huge turnaround, wouldn’t you agree? The banquet hall was absolutely amazing and the dinner and conversation were great. This was followed by a spectacular fireworks show and a live performance by a cover band that played marvelously. Dinner was followed by some hanging out at the hotel bar, and before I knew it the night was over.
Attending Be-All was a worthwhile experience, one that I will use as a stepping stone in my journey through life. It will certainly not be my last conference, but I am determined to dress up as Jessica more often, not limiting myself to the confines of a boxy but lovely apartment. I made friends with whom I plan on seeing again.
To Britney, Sara, and Thalia, I am honored to have met you and I look forward to great friendships. To my mother, thanks for being there for me and calling me back to check up on your son. And most of all, thanks to my superbly incredibly awesome wife, without whom I would be only semi-fabulous * wink wink *.
Thank you for sharing in my experiences of Be-All 2009. This was a very special time in my life and I wanted to make sure that I documented it as best as possible.

Brit says : ::Clapping:: "Yaay, good recap!"
Thanks Brit!
Great recap, Jess! I know you haven't posted any pics of yourself on this blog, but you can't possibly mention a banquet and then not at least describe what you were wearing for it! c'mon girl, details!
Thanks Rachel, I will post some pictures up very soon. For the banquet I wore a halter top style dress (black with red leaves pattern), a black cardigan and a faux pearl necklace and earrings.
