TV Show Tells Women to Crossdress

My wife and I have recently started watching a show on Live Well HD called “Mirror / Mirror”, a show about fashion, makeup and lifestyle tips mainly geared toward women. Since setting it as a series recording on our DVR, we’ve learned a lot from this program and have tried to apply it to our lives.

Today’s episode threw us for a loop, as the producers of the show presented a segment on The Boyfriend Look, a new wave in fashion that has women borrowing from men’s styles.

Some of these suggestions are just wearing women’s clothing inspired by traditional men’s fashion, which isn’t really anything new. However, the host then goes on to inspire ladies to pick up men’s undershirts, watches, and even cologne as great additions to their warddrobes. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears, this show was actually encouraging crossdressing. Now, they didn’t use that word exactly, but they did specifically tell women to buy and use these items.

It’s important to note that this is textbook crossdressing, in every way imaginable. By it’s very defintion, crossdressing is wearing clothes traditionally reserved for the opposite gender. There is absolutely no difference between what this show was advising and a man wearing a women’s blouse and skirt. None, whatsoever.

While it’s debatable whether a woman in jeans, a button-down shirt and sneakers is actually crossdressing (for the record, I’m not stating my opinion here), this show is clearly endorsing crossdressing. Additionally, any woman who follows this advice is, by defintion, a crossdresser.

Could you imagine a show on Spike TV telling men to show off their muscles by wearing a women’s t-shirt, arguing that the shorter sleeve showcases the biceps better? How about wearing a skirt while playing tennis to gain more agility?

I found this segment to be enjoyable and it truly gave me a good chuckle. Clearly I am biased, but I do enjoy the blurring of gender lines, and I do find it cute when my wife dresses in this “boyfriend style”. Maybe soon we will see a girlfriend fashion trend in men’s clothing. Yea, right.

P.S. As I was writing this post, the George Lopez Show was on in the background. His mother just told him that something was “a lifestyle choice, like being a crossdresser or…” and that’s an exact quote.

Very Cool…Women can just do what they want…which is probably why I want to be one…at least part-time

I couldn't stop laughing during this segment, just imagining the reaction if a men's fashion magazine or television show suggested that men borrowed from women's fashion to accomplish "The Girlfriend Look"

I love those styles! (My SO would hate them but I'm not asking him)
Although I don't know she is actually crossdressing with those heals. :-p

I want to see a show tell men to wear heels. I don’t care what show, I just want to see one.

Yes, that would be really cool, and even cooler if shoe companies made bigger shoes :)

There is a whole “girlfriend” look … it’s in the Emo style. Guys wear skinny girl jeans, hoodies, guyliner, iron their hair etc … Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy is probably the most well known person doing it. Most of the Emo boys have a sort of pseudo-bisexual vibe, though most are likely straight. Wentz is married to Ashley Simpson.

The goth scene is pretty much like that as well, where it can be difficult sometimes figuring out the girls from the boys. I kinda think it’s FUN to try to figure out the girls from the guys!

Go into Macy’s nowadays. Lots of Girl type shirts. With Foil Designs and Pastel Colors. I was amazed what I found. Thought I was in Women’s Dept.

Nothing new here in the world of feminist cross-dressing, aka, transvestism; females, straight or homo have been doing this fashion fad since the mid-1960′s big time ! Even the so-called feminine version of menswear is still cross-dressing .

Technical women don’t crossdress is more fashion. Or is it political statement. They can and males can’t. Why I’m saying this cause it’s true. A couple of weeks ago I went to one of my local malls . And I wanted to check what kind of shoes they were selling both male and female. I saw the sizes of largest male size is fourteen. Luckly I wear size 10.5 male. And this girl was check the female shoes which only goes to 11 women sizes I think. We talk a little a find out she wearing size 10 men sneakers in public and I was no differents to female sneakers. So what does that tell you. That women are loud more freedom. And male have less.
