I Am Crossdresser, Hear Me Roar!

by Jessica De Leon on July 10, 2009

Meru

First and foremost, I would like to send a special thank you to all who visited my page yesterday. I am grateful to those of you who left such wonderful comments in support of my unveiling, believe me you made my day.

This decision was not cut and dry, as I’ve stated when I started my blog I had the intention of blowing off steam and uncorking the bottle of suppression by forcing myself to sit down at the computer to blog. At first, I just wanted to recall some noteworthy experiences and then I wanted to express my thoughts and emotions regarding being transgendered.

If a few people visited my blog, then great, that was fine by me. I decided to share it with some established bloggers in this niche and also place a link in my forum signature. No big deal, right? Well, before I knew it, positive comments were flowing in and my passion for blogging grew like Barry Bond’s muscles. The support that I received from friends, fellow bloggers and readers was wonderful.

I hadn’t intended on showing my face here, just my writing, but after a little bit I felt the need to show my readers the person behind the blog. Despite this, I couldn’t just broadcast myself all willy-nilly, I had to think it through and discuss it with my love.

As I sat down and wrote my three part series on the various motivations for transgendered people to share the pictures, I directed the question back at myself. It had been a couple of months since I took the plunge on crossdressers dot com so it’s not like people couldn’t find me.

It only made sense that my blog should be the hub for all of my content, as the title suggests this is “The Official Blog of Jessica De Leon”! ;) The decision was made to conclude the series of posts in epic fashion, by revealing myself to you all. It was my way of saying

Hello everyone, I’ve arrived!

The response that I received yesterday was overwhelmingly positive, and once again I’d like to thank all of you. Now that this mountain has been conquered, we can move forward together and accomplish even more. I look forward to our journey together.

To the rest of the web: Hear me roar!

Hi Jessica,

Saw your posts on the Crossdressers-forum.com, and admired your blog. I am an older (much) CDr, who is lucky enough to have an accepting and cooperative SO. I often get on the CD-forum chatroom afternoons, so maybe we’ll meet up there some time.

Hugs,
Lydia

While there is a ton of validation in the online community of T, I would also caution you that though moving forward in blogging better and faster than ever brings a ton of rewards, it also has its risks. Many trans people I know are easily hurt or offended, rightfully so with all the rejection most of us face in the real world. That said, sometimes you’re gonna step on toes and what not. Remaining positive, as you have done in your blog, seems to be key for people to know they can find safe haven here. You’re doing great, and I hope others see that too. Keep it up and keep moving forward!
