I realized today that while I’ve made quite a few “Mainstream Crossdressing” themed posts, I’ve never really taken the time to explain exactly what I mean by that. There are many instances of crossdressing in the mainstream media like music, television and movies. Typically, I highlight crossdressing by non-trans people, and it is usually for entertainment or comedic purposes.
Once in a while I’ll throw a news story in there if it really catches my interest. My main goal with the Mainstream Crossdressing series is to put a smile on your face or make you laugh as I feel that is okay to make light of something that is usually very serious or misunderstood.
I also sincerely hope that by seeing crossdressing in film, TV shows, music videos, and other forms of media you can feel a little less alone in this world. As I said, usually the people cross-dressing aren’t cross-dressers (at least not publicly), but by viewing it, you may feel better about yourself.
I will never, in my best effort, post something that is explicitly harmful or disparaging to the transgender community without at least explaining my thoughts about how wrong it is.
There are many superb blogs out there that highlight and discuss trans issues and serious topics, and I do my best to keep up with what’s going on in our world. My Mainstream Crossdressing posts usually are just for fun and are by no means designed to change the world.
Anytime I see or hear about something that involves men dressing as women or women dressing as men in the entertainment arena, I am likely to write about it here and share a video so that you can see it as well. If you ever come across anything that would fit into my Mainstream Crossdressing series of posts, please share it with me either via email, comments, twitter, facebook, myspace or telepathy.
So, what do you think of the Mainstream Crossdressing post series? Got a favorite post so far or would you like me to cover something? Please drop me a line in the comment section

Mainstream crossdressing is just becoming more main stream these days. In the past crossdressing just got bad press and there was something wrong with all of us. Now we are getting more positive press and post op girls can get jobs rather than be on welfare forever unless they had a strong profession previously. Slowly the norms of society are changing. This has not been an overnight thing and we still have a long way to go but we are heading in the right direction. Being a product of the 60s we had to keep a low profile. I was just born too soon for this to all get going. There are so many good looking girls out there and wives that are open to crossdressing. They are not in the majority I might add. My wife thinks Im crazy doing what I do and no amount of information will change her ideas. The internet helped bring so many of us together and we were no longer alone.Keep the positive ideas flowing ,as we are making progress one girl at a time.
Well said, thanks for the comment Leslee
I love the mainstream crossdressing thread. It is cool to see cross dressing in the mainstream in a version that is not just for comedy.
Thanks, Gaven!
