Back in the early 90′s, Martin was one of my favorite sitcoms. I enjoyed the humor, the cast and of course the various characters that Martin himself played. One of the roles he took on was that of Sheneneh Jenkins, a sassy and street-wise girl from the streets of Detroit.
Of course, this required that he dressed up in drag to channel Sheneneh, who also owned a beauty salon called Sheneneh’s Sho’ Nuff Hair Salon. I always knew that this transvestism was done for comedic value, but there was something about it that made me feel a little bit more comfortable with myself, laughing all the way 
.

It’s pretty cool, I used to watch it every week, now I catch it now and again in syndication. There are a lot of recurring jokes, which I love. One of which includes everyone teasing Tommy for not having a job
