Mainstream: Japan’s Crossdress Paradise

by Jessica De Leon on September 10, 2009

Special thanks to Karen, who left a comment in this post, informing us about this television show from Japan. It looks like a lot of fun, it sure would be awesome if we could get a show like this in the US, I know I would watch it.

Apparently, the males being made over are not transgendered, though they seem to enjoy their transformation. The show does a fantastic job of making these boys look like girls, here is a clip from an episode, there are many more available on youtube if you follow this link.

The crowd’s reactions are absolutely priceless, as they are stunned to see a male who was been dressed to look like a gorgeous female.

I would also watch this but than we enjoy this type of program. Many of the day time talk shows have done shows on transgendered girls. They mostly compare the transgendered girls to genetic and one has to try and figure out which ones they are. The Jerry Springer shows are just plain derogitory to every TG person.
They do expose the public that there are TG individuals out ther but do not show them in a positive manner.

This is one of the reasons I want to learn Japanese. A show like this would never be on US television, much as I wish it would.

I would watch this type of show. It would interesting to think how an American channel might recreate this show. Sadly it would most likely end up on LOGO or some other small cable channel and never get mainstream coverage.

I love the black and white striped dress. :)

Interesting to see the ‘girls’ reaction in this. They look very nervous but then I guess it’s not an everday experience for them…. not like others I could mention :D

A few years ago, TBS had a short series called “He’s A Lady”. Very enjoyable to see the weekly transformations . Would be great to see a reprise of that or a different variation, maybe fathers and sons or mothers coaching their sons?

Well I see that this show was filmed some years ago, I wonder what happened to the best dressed boys as girls, the winners or more convincing guys in dragg, they accidentally may had found a way to make lots of money, other wise you got to think of the way they were personally affected.

They are teen today, but the body ages and they continue to be men

If they make money doing this transformation, how conveniant is it been for them? do they had a sex change surgery or a hormones treatment?, has any of them done that?, where are they now, today? had their eyes been opened to a posibility they had never tough of?

As you see the show can be fun or it may be can bring many other questions and may be long term consequenses.
