Surprise #1: Guest Posting

by Jessica De Leon on October 22, 2009

IMG_6818Well, hey there girlfriends ;) . Sorry for the scant updates so far this week, I have been taking a few days of rest in celebration of my sixth monthaversery. However, I’d like to reveal the first of several surprises I alluded to in Monday’s post.

I am currently writing up my first ever guest posts! What are guest posts, you may ask? Well, basically I have been asked to write articles for a couple of different blogs, with a handful of goals in mind.

Share My Writing Style

As you (hopefully) have noticed, I have developed a very unique blogging style during the six months I have blogged at Jessica Who?. In many cases, I’ve taken subjects that have been covered many times and placed my own twist on things.

When I write for these other blogs, I am going to do my best to maintain the style that sets me apart from other authors in the hopes that readers who don’t visit here will be able to enjoy my writing.

Stretch My Boundaries

With my own blog, I can publish what I want when I want and how I want with nobody to answer to except myself (and maybe a cute senior editor ;) ). Although there are defined processes I follow in the creation of blog entries, the final word is always mine.

This will change as I write a post in different places, I will have to keep in mind the type of blog I am guest posting for. Of course, this is not to say that I will alter myself in any way, but rather I will try to further develop my skills as a writer.

I hope that by posting on different sites I will be able to acquire new skills and habits that will improve my overall blogging abilities.

Expand Readership

Jessica Who? has been successful so far due to all of you and you guys ‘n’ gals are my number one priority when I am working on the site. So far in October we are averaging over 1,000 visitors per day! It is due to this growth that I have dedicated more time and effort into making this blog the best it can be.

With that said, there are people out there who have never heard of this blog (sad but true ;) ). Through guest posting I hope that we can bring in some more people to peruse the readings and enjoy my twisted sense of humor.

The more the site grows in readership the better it will become overall, and that’s a promise :D .

Make Connections, Spark Ideas & More

Writing for other blogs allow me to connect with other authors and site owners and give me the chance to brainstorm with someone other than myself. The more I write, the better I’ll become and the more post ideas that will flow.

Don’t Worry & How To Follow

Now, don’t worry because my guest posting is not going to interfere in any way with the bodacious content here at Jessica Who?, I will just be working a little bit extra — this is why I decided to take a couple days to rest up.

Finally, I will (probably) not be cross-posting (no pun intended), meaning that articles that are published elsewhere will be unique and most likely not posted here. If you would like to read these extra articles, you can follow me on twitter (@jessica_who) where I will be tweeting about all of my guest writings.

Well, that about sums it up. Stay tuned for the guest posts and the regular posts here :D , I hope I don’t overwhelm ;) . By the way, if you have your own crossdresser/transgender blog, I would love to write a guest post, no matter how big or small the blog. Just send me a message and we’ll talk :) .

Whoa, sorry for the emoticon overload — I just noticed it, lol. It’s late and I have been watching “In Living Color” episodes all night! :)

Its great that you will be spreading the word about the blog and gathering more skills to become a better blogger. I am sure as you continue to blog the site will become even better. Thanks for all your inspirational posts. Hugs
