For many reasons, Rage is shaping up to be nothing short of a groundbreaking piece of cinema. Not only did it single handedly create a new genre (Naked cinema), but it was also the first movie to premiere simultaneously across many different mediums.
Directed by Sally Potter, Rage debuted in theatres, on home video, on the internet and mobile phones. So, you may be wondering why I chose to highlight this film with today’s post. The answer will become clear after the jump.
Aside from the interesting premise — a student filmmaker interviews members of the fashion world and posts them on the internet — Rage features at least three people who are of interest to the transgendered community.
First, “Executive Transvestite” Eddie Izzard stars as Tiny Diamonds. Worth noting is that similar to most of his films, Eddie is playing a male role. Next, John Leguizamo, also known as Chi-Chi Rodriguez in “To Wong Foo. . .”, plays Jed.

However, the most interesting role is being played by none other than Jude Law. He steps into the role of Minx, a celebrity model who happens to be transgendered. Law looks amazing as you can see in some of these official pictures.
We think it’s awesome that someone with such a high profile like Jude Law is playing a MTF trans woman as opposed to a drag queen or cross-dresser. Most transgender roles in Hollywood have been the opposite, so Law taking on this type of character is spectacular.
Jude Law as Minx
Below you will find the trailer as well as a direct link to the official website for the film. By the way, back to the plot: the student is secretly sharing these video interviews on the web, made all the more interesting because an accident on the runway has become a murder investigation.
With the movie available online, you should definitely check it out. Leave a comment below on what you think of the movie if you’ve already seen it or even if you haven’t, let me know your opinion on the whole production.

I love it!!!! I cannot wait to see Jude Law’s Performance. Hope it comes out in the cinema’s here soon. I prefer watching – big screen
Yea same here, watching on the web is much less spectacular
I think I may look into it. I love Jude Law as an actor anyway, though from the shot you posted, he may be an equally great actress. Does it help that Jude is one of those guys that make one question your heterosexuality? Yeah I would if it wasn’t already questioned. HOT!
Oh yea, he’s looking hot in those outfits
Not to promote downloading, but there is a DVD-rip for those that don’t want to wait for it to make it’s way to the states.
Wasn’t aware of that, thanks Jo Ann
Refreshingly raw, low budget (yet high profile cast). Strange in the best way possible.
Indeed, I can’t wait to watch it in its entirety
How. Did. I. Miss. This? I gotta, gotta, gotta see this film!
