Humble Beginnings on Geocities, Blogspot Rebirth
I’ve talked about this ad nauseum, but back in 2002 I had my own cross-dressing blog where I talked about my struggles and was fortunate enough to have readers who reached out to me. That site was killed, unfortunately, but in a sense was reborn in April of last year when, with my wife’s blessings and encouragement, I re-launched my blog under the moniker “Jessica Who?”.
I started on blogspot and found it very cathartic to be able to pen my thoughts and organize my life into “posts”. Soon enough, other people like me began finding my writings and that’s when the floodgates opened.
Jessica-Who.Com is Born
I purchased my own domain name and sometime later I converted my blog to WordPress format so that I would have more flexibility. The organization and customization that this afforded me was crucial in reaching some of my lofty goals.
Over the months I became extremely passionate about my blogging and interacting with the community. Of course, I had to put my own spin on things by introducing my various series’ and things of that nature. I’ve found that I get back as much as I put in to the whole blogosphere, not just by tending to my own site but also by reading all of your wonderful weblogs.
Highs & Lows
First, the writing started, soon after that I began posting photos of myself and still later, my comedy videos sprang forth to light up YouTube. As I said, I devised many plans for this website and so far have been able to accomplish many of them — one of the most popular cross-dressing websites on the Internet (over 350,000 hits in just one year of existence), a posting frequency like no other (one new blog post every weekday) and a professional design, just to name a few.
However, it hasn’t been all great. I’ve disappeared for weeks at a time, let certain things bother me and have even considered stepping away completely. Not to worry though, because I am 100% dedicated to keeping what we’ve got going strong well into the future.
What’s Next For This Transgender Blog?
For starters, this week is going to be an extravaganza of awesomeness. Of course, today marks the anniversary and kicks off our second contest/giveaway (details below, I promise!). Tomorr0w evening I will be uploading a brand new video to YouTube, one that I have worked very hard on, it is my first production of epic proportions. You can watch it early or just wait until it’s posted on Wednesday here.
I will begin sharing more of who and what have inspired me and Friday will mark a very special “Word of the Week”. I sincerely hope that you visit every day this week!!
Over The Coming Weeks and Months
This marks my 247th post! Even with all of that content, I’ve got tons more ideas and drafts waiting to see the light of day. I’m going to be delving more into my past for the sake of others who are not in the fortunate position that I find myself in. In addition, some old topics may be revisited and improved upon. Finally, I will be elaborating on several of the unique concepts that I drum up.
I’m also going to do my best to provide you with a brand new post every single day, but just in case things get hairy I will give you advance notice instead of just vanishing as I’ve done in the past.
As you may have guessed, I still have some grand “big picture” goals for this website that I am confident will be met within the next year. Unfortunately, I can’t get into much detail about these things yet, but trust me, they’re gonna be amazing.
My Deepest Gratitude
First and foremost, thank you “Rebecca”, for everything that you do and mean to me in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive partner who is also my best friend (in addition to makeup artist, wardrobe consultant, editor, second director and #1 fan).
Next, thank you Mom for being a cornerstone in my life. It truly warms my heart when I call you in the morning, on my way to work, and you tell me that you are starting your day with my newest blog entry (true story, folks). Your support and encouragement mean so much to me and help keep me balanced.
And of course, to all my friends, family and readers (a.k.a Jessica Who? Crew). Without you, this website would be nothing. Each and every one of your comments and messages truly touch my heart. They are the fuel that help keep me motivated to bring you the very best content that I am capable of producing.
Last, but not least, thank you to those who over the course of this past year have tried to discount, dismiss, ignore and marginalize me. I am honored that my humble productions reach you. Rest assured that there will never be anything other than positivity and hopefulness in my content, and your negative actions toward me have been absorbed and converted into positive energy.
Finally, The Giveaway — a $25 Victoria’s Secret Gift Card!!!
You may or may not recall the Rage DVD giveaway that took place here in December. Well, in that post I promised that there would be more to come in 2010! I am giving away a $25 gift card to Victoria’s Secret that can be used in any of their stores or at their website (victoriassecret.com). The winner has their choice of receiving a solid gift card or an e-gift card. The latter would require you to only give me your email address.
Entering the drawing is quite simple and you are able to enter more than once:
One Entry: Leave a comment below, and you are given one “ticket” in the drawing. All I ask is that in your comment you leave some positivity — you can mention a post of mine that you particularly like, a video that made you squirt milk out of your nose or maybe what you’d like to see more of on “Jessica Who?”. I’ll allow pretty much anything, but please say something meaningful
.
In your comment, please be sure to include your valid e-mail address (never published) so that I have a solid contact point for you. The name you choose to use is completely up to you — it can be your real name, nickname, screen name or even your dog’s name. This will be the name I use to announce you as the winner.
Three Entries: Help spread the word about Jessica-Who.com! Place a link to this post on your Twitter, Facebook or MySpace profile. Be sure to inform me that you’ve done this by including “@jessica_who” in your tweet or by sending me a message on Facebook / MySpace.
To do this, copy and paste this link onto your profile –> http://www.jessica-who.com/2010/04/one-year
You can do this on each social network (twitter, facebook, myspace) for a total of nine “tickets” in the drawing.
Ten Entries: Here’s the doozy. If you’ve got your own blog (transgender, cross-dressing or otherwise), link back to this post in a new post of yours and you will receive ten “tickets” in the drawing.
In reality, you can have as many as 20 “tickets”, so in honor of my Chicago roots, vote early and often. Good luck and THANK YOU for a wonderful year!!
Boring mumbo jumbo:
The Victoria’s Secret Gift Card contest runs from Monday April 19th 7:00 AM EST to Monday April 26th 7:00 AM EST, exactly seven (7) days. There is no purchase necessary and entrants are allowed up to 20 tickets in the drawing according to the rules above. Sorry, but brand new (created on this day or after) twitter, facebook and myspace profiles are not eligible. Because of regional restrictions, this contest will be limited to the United States.
One (1) winner will be selected at random and will receive a $25 gift card to Victoria’s Secret. Winner’s information will be kept strictly confidential and will only be identified by the name they choose to give. Sorry, but family members of Jessica De Leon are not eligible to win.

Congrats on your first year, Jessica! You definitely inject a lot of fun into this sometimes lonely lifestyle. You’ve got a great, colourful site and I’m glad your cute self is dressing up more. Living in Canada, I won’t qualify for the gift card, but that shouldn’t stop me from my encouragement.
Well happy anniversary girl! Your blog is an inspiration and so are your videos. =) I’m glad we have the friendship we do.

Oh, hon, I’m just making this post to tell you that you’ve been doing a fantastic job and I look forward to your posts and videos daily, so you don’t have to enter my name into the pot!
Good for you for trying to spread some VS love around to a lucky gal!
I was still in the closet when I discovered your blog, and after reading your posts Journal>Family and Friends tab, I finally told my parents. That was a couple months ago, and now I’m fully out. Going to classes en femme and everything.
Here’s my entry. And I do love to read your blog. It is very level-headed, not trendy or provacative, in its discussion of crossdressing. Keep up the good work! (And I’ll repost the contest on my blog.)
Happy Anniversary! !!!!!!!!!!”"
Congrats on making the one year mark. Internet time seems to move faster and while you may have had the odd dip here and there, so what? You’ve kept at it. Go you!

Hey Jessica, congrats on the one year anniversary!
I remember when I first came to your site, through a link you left on myspace. I thought it was interesting and kept coming back for more. My favorite sections definitely have to be the Mainstream Crossdressing.
Anyways, congrats again and hope to see some great stuff this coming year as well!
Two positive things come to mind (a lot for me!). One, I love that you have highlighted the concept of underdressing several times, something close to my heart. Two, it’s been great to watch you come out of your shell, from that tentative first pic to full-on video silliness.
A great website from a lovely crossdresser!
This is quite the accomplishment, sweetie. And you have done it in a very uplifting and positive way. Thank you for all your efforts, for sharing your private life experiences, and for making us laugh out loud! Here’s to another year of Jessica Who?, the first blog I check out every day. (I could go into a “Who’s On First” bit here – but I won’t. ~~giggle~~)
Blessings to you

Congratulations! Love reading your blog every chance I get. Keep up to good work!
Congrats on the accomplishment of blogging almost daily. I wish I could dedicate the time to blogging that often. I loved your phone operator video that was great. I need to do more videos myself.
Hey girl! i just wanted to express my sincerest gratitude for your efforts! I stumbled across your blog about three months ago and I’ve been reading it ever since. Your stories on how you came out to your wife during college inspired me to do the same with my current girlfriend (and she accepted me wholeheartedly)
!

Marianna
