My wife and I (and our dogs) recently moved into a new place and as protocol required, we were forced to pack up our entire lives into a big truck and enlist the help of a few friends for the heavy lifting.
Of course that included boxing up Jessica’s belongings – wigs, shoes, makeup, clothes and what not.
In past years, all of this stuff was confined to one duffel bag or suitcase, but ever since I successfully integrated my male and female belongings, the unpacking process includes finding different things here and there.
While not a huge deal, when I reflect on how my life used to be structured — my ‘female’ side confined to a small, hidden storage area — it is eye-opening. While for the time being we have to be careful about keeping certain things like wigs out of the sight of our friends, I am happy that I do not have to take those same precautions when it is just us two.
Unloading trucks and moving furniture certainly aren’t the most femme of activities, but I hope to balance these things out by getting in some Jessica time sometime this week.
Moving Your MTF Crossdresser Stuff
When you move, what do you do with your feminine stuff? Do you pack it in its own box labeled ‘vintage army catalogs’ or is it thrown in whatever crates have space?
One last thought – a cross-dresser and his wife in a battle for closet space… who wins? The answer may shock you

Hehe – my wife and I share the closet space equally. Vanessa gets 45%, she gets 45%, and the other 10% goes to some guy who apparently lives in the house. Every now and then my wife seems to think it’s me, but I say she’s just seeing things…
Haha! That’s a great compromise
Hi Jessica,
Last year when I moved, I packed all of Veronica’s things in a box with my name on it making sure that my wife or I got that box off the moving truck.
That’s funny about the closet space. I’m curious on how you and your lovely wife worked it out. My wife and I share the closet equally getting half the space. But then sometimes it seems Veronica’s clothing does creep to my wifes side every now and then.
May God Bless your new home always,
Veronica =)
We are definitely blessed to have two separate closets, one for me and one for her
Having moved recently I just put them in a box and marked them as clothes or just not take them out of the drawers.
That’s a good strategy
I had to get a closet just for me.
Yup! Me too
In the battle for closet space between a cross-dresser and his wife? Who would win? I’d say both parties – by sharing a closet you just doubled your wardrobe and so did she!
We share accessories and she wears some of my clothes (they are way big on her) but it’s hard for me to fit into something of hers
My wife gets all the closet space and complains I have too much ‘guy’ stuff in the garage. Some day, I’ll swap her clothes with my fem ones that are stored in the boxes in the garage and it will be fair… or not. Oh, kust label your moving box ‘costumes’…but you might get your ‘idiot’ friend pulling stuff out to play with it.
Yea I can only imagine having a friend say, “cool, what kind of costumes and then finding a bunch of lingerie hehehe”
Judging by our wardrobes my Wife gets about a third of the space, but if all of “my” femme clothes were put out, there would not be any room for either my Drab self or my Wife. My make a note to reduce my time on eBay and not go into Matalan or DP’s so much
Yea shopping is addicting
We each have a closet. But we tend to get each outhers stuff mixed up. A lot of my stuff was my wifes stuff before.
That’s great, getting your wife’s old clothes, saves some money too!
My wife and I are fortunate enough to be able to share some of the clothes (I can fit into some of the stretchier stuff) so there isn’t a lot of complaining from the wife about my female clothing hogging closet space. I do however have an extensive T-shirt collection (guy clothes) that she DOES complain about (even though when you factor in her clothes plus the clothes we share she gets a solid 75% of the available real estate!)
As for moving – we moved across the country about a year and a half ago. We had professional movers pack and move our stuff, a friend and I drove the cars, and my wife flew ahead of us to get our temp housing ready and start her job. My wife and I packed up all of my CD-specific stuff (wig, forms, shoes) that were obviously NOT hers and took them with her in her luggage on the plane so we didn’t run the risk of movers or friends finding them.
That was a good solid moving plan
