Mainstream Crossdressing – MeHarmony.Com (SNL)

by Jessica De Leon on June 3, 2010

They say that opposites attract, but sometimes we want a mate that shares our interests, goals and even personality traits. They also say that as a couple ages, they start to resemble each other more and more. Saturday Night Live took this concept to the extreme with their eHarmony parody titled “MeHarmony.Com”.

This commercial spoof showcases people finding their perfect matches, literally ;) .

I absolutely love this type of comedy — men in drag performing in a skit with actual humor, not just the novelty of men in dresses. It is very similar to what I am trying to do with my sketches, although I have a long way to go to achieve this type of production quality. I’ve got the ideas — now who wants to sponsor me ;) ?

Hope you enjoyed the skit.

How did I miss that?! Brilliant – after all these years, I still can’t believe SNL comes up with this stuff.

Ha!

I agree, Jessica – just seeing a guy in a dress is no longer a laugh getter – more a “giggle getter”. This sketch used actual humor, with the drag being a tool to get there. And here I thought SNL was on DNR! Thanks for sharing!

No problem, when I saw it on the DVD “SNL’s greatest commercial parodies” I knew I had to post it. Luckily it was online :)
