There’s something special about Middle Eastern justice. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia or maybe the fact that swords are always bad-ass. A news story was sent to my inbox concerning a cross-dresser from Kuwait who is judge and jury of all that happens around him.
The incident took place in Kuwait City and also involved two Syrian men. Dubai, United Arab Emirates is the source of this article so one cannot be sure if the ‘perpetrator’ was indeed a cross-dresser or a transsexual woman. According to the report, the cross-dressing Kuwaiti was relaxing on her balcony, smoking a cigarette and disposing of some ashes when. . .
Live By The Dress, Kill By The Sword
Two Syrian men were strolling along, probably on their way to Starbucks when they were hit with said cigarette ashes. They then swore at her. I imagine they said something about her outfit not matching because she then did what any self-respecting gender bender would do — brandish their sword.
Yes, folks, our hero then grabbed her sword, which the paper failed to adequately describe, so I’m gonna go ahead and call it an ancient samurai sword that killed a 4th century emperor. The Kuwaiti t-girl then rushed downstairs, slashed one of the men in the back and then, using the ancient Tiger Style, sliced off the other man’s hand!
Too much? Hey, this is Middle Eastern justice, I am not one to call it right or wrong. But I am one to call it awesome. This should be made into a movie or at least a television mini-series. Apparently the doctors struggled to reattach the amputated hand and as of press time it is not known if they were successful.
If nothing else this story teaches us to ensure that we have our sword skills up to par in case anyone swears at us. Lesson learned, I say.

As she cut off the guy’s hand, did she say anything about “I am your father, Luke”?
It’s a cute story, but I tend to doubt its truthfulness:
1. Cross dressing is highly illegal in Kuwait, as it is in most Arab countries. No mention is made in the story of the cross dresser then being arrested, which would have been automatic, even without them having cut-off anyone’s hand.
2. Emirates 24/7 is owned, lock, stock and barrel by Dubai Media Inc., which is in turn run/ruled by Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
It is not news organization in the western sense of the word. It is really, little more than a government controlled propaganda organ. Sort of an Arab version of the Soviet Union’s old Pravda.
As such, stories that depict homosexuals, cross dressers, and other “enemies of the regime” in circumstances that would make them appear to be a danger to the public at large so that people will fear them, should be taken with a grain of salt.
As for the sword, if the story is true, which I doubt, it was probably a “saif,” or scimitar, which is a backwards curved sabre-like blade, particular to Arab countries.
As I said, it’s a cute story. To a westerner. But, in the Arab mindset someone cutting off your hand after you swore at them for flicking cigarette ashes on you, is not cool.
Doing such a thing is a sign of disrespect in an Arab culture. In that culture the men were correct in swearing at the offender. Having good manners, the offender should have offered an apology for their social misconduct, and begged the men’s forgiveness. Instead, they jumped down and cut their hands off. In other words, the cross dresser was not only disrespectful, but a danger to the public.
The subtext of the story is: “Only a deviant like a cross dresser would be so rude and disrespectful to innocent persons BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE.”
Not quite the same thing as it appears to a westerner, is it?
Someone call Robert Rodriguez!
