Jim Carrey is one of my all-time favorite comedians and one of my comedy idols. Since his days on In Living Color, I’ve been a huge fan and have kept up with all of his films from Ace Ventura to I Love You Phillip Morris.
Naturally, when I heard that he would be hosting Saturday Night Live last weekend on NBC, my heart fluttered. Seeing Jim back doing sketch comedy again is a dream come true.
Carrey’s monologue showed us yet again the comedic genius of this man and to up the ante, his first sketch showcased him in drag!
Carrey Crossdressing as a Ballerina from Black Swan
The skit was a parody of the new movie Black Swan and featured Jim as a sassy ballerina. I couldn’t stop laughing while also feeling so happy that Jim is so open to cross-dressing whenever, wherever.
Of course, he’s not new to this. He’s played female characters before and has appeared in public in a women’s bikini that matched his ex-wife Jenny McCarthy’s bathing suit.

What’s more is that one of the bumper photos later in the episode featured Carrey blurring gender lines again with his shirt stuffed to show breasts. I wonder if he was wearing a bra under that shirt?
I owe a ton of my comedic inspiration to Jim Carrey and was delighted to see him on SNL, where he generally outshone the entire cast. The fact that he also did it in drag was amazing.

I love Jim. I thought him and Ewan made very convincing gays in Phillip Morris. That movie was very groundbreaking in my opinion. Fuck Brokeback!
