(Re)Start your engines, because RuPaul has returned for Season 3 of her show Drag Race, where several queens compete to become “The Next Drag Superstar”.
I honestly had no idea that there was a new season in the works and only caught this by chance on Monday when I was flipping through channels. Although I watched every episode of season one, I didn’t catch much of season two nor did I watch RuPaul’s Drag U.
Season 3 Starts Like Any Other
Usually reality competition shows throw new wrinkles into the contest each season, but I didn’t see one here. I suppose you don’t need any gimmicks when you have a bunch of attention-hungry drag performers cooped up in a small area.
I watched through the entire episode and honestly wasn’t interested in anything more than the amazing makeup, fashion and performing skills that these ladies possess. There banter back and forth gets tired after a while, and while RuPaul is a gracious enough hostess, she hasn’t done enough in my opinion to keep the show enthralling.
However, I will give this season a try and watch the next couple of episodes to see if anything changes as far as excitement. I will be writing up an article about how these drag queens identify and what sorts of things the rest of us in the T community can learn from them (and vice-versa).
The first episode saw the queens posing for holiday cards and then constructing Christmas-themed ensembles using nothing more than donated items purchased from the thrift store.
Also of note is Logo’s new tagline “Fierce TV”, that made me chuckle quite a bit

That was outstanding. I always like a good drag performance. Keep up the good work. Love and hugs, Angie
Oooh, Raouwrrr. Screaming hot drag queens, some of the best. I haven’t seen RuPaul in quite some time and she still looks incredibly good. My cousin Gloria was in redio with her golden voice and did an interview with RuPaul on the air in Florida. I have a nice picture of them together at the station. Small world isn’t it. Thanks Jessica. I had no idea what she was up to these days.
