I read an article about crossdressing earlier today (ironically enough it was similar to the post I did on Monday). At the bottom of the article I encountered a comment that disturbed me. It basically mentioned how comedians who crossdress are showing a sign of weakness.
While reading something like that doesn’t have much of an effect on me, I can certainly understand how someone else may take it to heart and let it bother them. I am choosing to counter that because it’s a sentiment that many other people in society share. Get ready for a rant at those people
.
Weakness No, Strength Yes
Dear Portion of Society That Feels Crossdressing Shows Weakness,
In what way does crossdressing show weakness? Is it because you devalue women and look at them as second-class citizens, inferior to men? So your mother, your sister(s), your aunt(s) and your grandmothers are all weak individuals?
Strength is something that is gender neutral. Sure, there are traditional areas of strength possessed by each sex, but everyone can show strength, regardless of gender identity.
It takes an immense amount of courage for a man to put on a dress either for a performance or for fun. To be strong and secure in your masculinity is something to be admired and not ridiculed.
I imagine this message probably won’t get through to ignorant individuals, but it’s worth a try.
Sincerely,
Crossdressing Men Everywhere
P.S. Why don’t you try it sometime? Maybe it’ll shut you up!

Cross dressing is not something that just hit me out of the blue. I asked my mother when I could be a girl, and I was 3 at the time. Does that show a weakness of my moral fiber at that age? We are not all the same and diversity not comformity is something that TG women embrace. If I am weak, somehow I squeeked through 8 years of college and have done quite well for myself. Lets change this to: in weakness there is strength. We embrace different ideas and I read our average IQ is 20 points above average.
Isn’t it great that people looking from the outside in always seem to have a better understanding of transgenderism than those actually living with it. Everyone thinks they’re friggin’ Dr. Phil or something.
AMEN to that Leslee!!!

Amen!
I like to answer is one also. Is crossdressing a sign of weakness?? No! If a guy wants to dress-up so to speak or wear is hair long it’s a problem. The powers that be so to speak say so. But if a girl wants to wear pants and shirts, and flat shoes. But wear they hair long it is OK? They’re girls is ok for to do it . The line is still drawed so to speak. And the standards must be change be it causes more problems to men. And maybe to women too!!
Just because we like to express the feminine side of ourselves doesn’t mean we are weak. instead, it shows that we have courage! we got the guts to go against the beliefs of many in society and dress as the opposite sex. i have heard people say they wouldn’t wear a single bra, pair of pannies, lingerie, skirt, dress, or anything feminine for an entire day for a thousand dollars. as for most of us, we would wear all of things and some for no money at all! we would wear it because we want to. thanks Jessica for bringing up this topic, you are truly amazing.
